Iceland– Icelandic krona

Icelandic krona – the official currency of Iceland. It is subdivided into 100 aurar(singular eyrir), but in practice this subdivision is no longer used. 

The international currency code of the Iceland krona is ISK.

The first Icelandic krona was issued in 1874.

Since 1981 has been used the so-called second krona.

Banknotes have nominal value of 500, 1000, 2000 and 5000 kronur.

Coins are in denominations of 1, 5, 10, 50 and 100 kronur.
